Grooming policy
At House Of The Woofers, the safety, comfort, and well-being of every pet is our top priority. To ensure a safe and positive grooming experience, we ask that all clients review and comply with the following grooming policies:
Vaccination Requirements

Rabies: Proof of a valid rabies vaccination is required for all grooming appointments.

Highly Recommended: Bordetella and Canine Influenza vaccinations, regardless of your dog’s level of socialization, to reduce the risk of illness.
Appointment Cancellations & Deposits

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please call us at 516-591-3819 no later than the day before your appointment, during business hours.

Late cancellations (same-day or last-minute) will result in a 50% fee per dog.

No-shows will be charged the full appointment amount.

Following a no-show or late cancellation, a 50% deposit will be required for all future bookings, in addition to payment of any outstanding fees from the missed appointment.

First-time offenders will only be required to place a 50% deposit for future bookings, with no additional penalty.
Grooming Fees & Conditions

A $5–$10 cleaning fee may be applied if your dog soils themselves during the grooming process, requiring an additional bath.

If a dog bites a groomer, the owner will be held responsible for any related medical costs. Clients must inform staff of any past incidents or sensitive areas prior to the appointment.

Arriving more than 10 minutes late will result in a warning. After three warnings, a $5 late fee will be applied for each subsequent occurrence.
Payment & Deposits for Multiple Dogs

For appointments involving more than one dog, a credit card deposit of 50% will be required. This deposit is applied toward the total grooming cost.

Failure to show will result in forfeiture of the 50% deposit.
Grooming Procedure & Communication

Our groomers dedicate their full attention to one dog at a time. Typical grooming sessions last 1.5–2 hours.

Clients will receive a call or text notification approximately 20–30 minutes before completion. If additional time is needed, you will be informed promptly.

Dogs will not be crated or caged unless their scheduled pick-up time has been exceeded.
Communication & Confirmation

A valid email address and mobile number is required to receive appointment confirmations and important grooming updates.
